Riverdance Audition

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Per Grandpa's request... I present my latest video. Mom thinks I'm a little young to audition for Riverdance, but I've been pushing her to send in my video anyway- a girl's gotta dream! Check out my leg action.

Now I know I stopped for a few seconds of rest in that 52 sec. clip, but I'm working on my endurance... think I've got a chance?

Yum, Yum??

As many of you know, I am showing a strong interest in food. Anything I can get my hands on, I go for. Only problem is, mom doesn't want me to start solids until I am six months. And yes, I am very close to six months, less than two weeks now! But in the meantime, my mom has found a new way to torture me.... she has started making baby food. About a week ago daddy took us to a farmer's market where we bought fresh peaches. Mom bought way more than her and daddy could eat, so she decided to look online and see just how difficult this baby food making business was. Turns out, it looked pretty easy so she decided to give it a whirl. She baked peaches and sweet potatoes, pureed them, and froze them in ice cube trays. When the food was frozen she simply transferred to freezer bags and labeled them. Turns out, each cube equals 1 oz. of food, and most foods are good for at least 3 mos. in the freezer. I can't wait to get my hands on them. The peaches smelled amazing and according to mom, every baby loves sweet potatoes- although I didn't see her sampling those at all:) Mom still plans on buying baby food, but when she has time, she plans on making some fresh too. I can't wait until the fall for yummy applesauce!
Oh, mom wanted me to tell you how much she made. So far we have 64 oz. of both peaches and sweet potatoes. That is equal to about 50 jars of stage one foods (2.5oz. per jar). And considering we only paid $5 for the peaches and $1.44 for the sweet potatoes, I think it is safe to say we saved some money! Perhaps that is how mom justifies her frequent visits to Baby Gap? And dad wants you all to know that he is really pushing for me to get a taste of some rice cereal this week- I'm not holding my breath, mom can be stubborn.

I HAVE FEET....

Monday, August 18, 2008

I know, I know, it doesn't sound that exciting, but in the last few weeks I have made a big discovery. I have feet! Oh, and when you add that to the hands and ears I found before, that means I have six new objects that I can play with whenever I want! Sure, my mom throws an assortment of actual toys in my car seat for each outing, but I find that most of the time, my feet are much more entertaining! You see, I can tickle them, pull on my toes, and even put them in my mouth.

My First Teeth

Friday, August 8, 2008

After months of excessive drooling (and mommy refusing to put a bib on me) I finally cut my first tooth! It happened Tuesday while I was visiting Becky and Eric and my cute cousin Leyton. My bottom middle-right tooth poked through, and then the next day while visiting my newest friend Maddox, the left tooth popped through! Now, it wasn't as easy as it sounds; there were a few restless days/nights, and a bit of fussing, but mommy knew what I needed most- lots of extra hugs and a bit of Tylenol. Bye, bye gummy smile, hello pearly whites!I didn't think it was as bad as my onesie makes it sound, but my mom thought the onesie described her feelings perfectly!
