Daddy Loves Me!

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Check out the new toy daddy bought me. It is a walker, and I love it! Mom can't take credit for this because she didn't even think they still made these- I guess they are dangerous near stairways. I can get myself pretty far on the wood floors, although you can usually catch me cruising backwards. My mom likes it because it conveniently folds down for travel- I took it to grandma's for the weekend!

SCOOTIN'

Friday, September 26, 2008

Okay, here is some video of me scooting! I have to want something pretty badly to go after it, so mom and dad tease me with remote controls and cell phones! I can get going pretty good, mom says I look like I am doing the "worm," not sure what that means, but I heard her saying that maybe Aunt Susie taught me????

ON THE MOVE!

Monday, September 22, 2008

I have been getting up on my hands and knees for over a week now. At first I just pushed myself up, then I started rocking back and forth, and now..... no, I am still not crawling! I get closer and closer every day, but it takes time you know. I did learn how to scoot around pretty good though. Mom's basket of magazines next to the couch is no longer safe. Nor is Mischa or any of her toys for that matter. I can go backward and forward to get what I want, and I am a pro at turning in circles! I suppose I'll be crawling by October which means dad really needs to put some locks on those kitchen cabinets. He did install a nice metal gate at the top of the stairs, poor Mischa can't figure out why she got banned from going down to the basement! Especially when she gets home from a run and just wants to get downstairs and lay on the cool floor. I hope one day she decides I was worth it:)

Love My Veggies!

In the last week I have found new foods added to my dinner menu. I have now had rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. So far I am not picky- I'll take whatever they give me. I figure I have plenty of time to decide what I like and dislike. Tonight I am trying green beans though, not sure about that green mush. And I can't wait for the fruits, but mom says we still need to try peas, carrots, and avocado before I get the good stuff. Here is a picture of me after I finished a glorious dinner of squash and cereal. Don't worry, I am not always this messy, I was just a bit overtired this particular night and rubbed some squash into my eyes.

6 Month Check-Up

Friday, September 12, 2008

Just got back from my six month doctor appointment and thought I would post my new stats for all of you. Mom says I have to, but I'm just wondering the last time all of you posted your weights on the internet for everyone to see:) I am now 16lb. 4oz., and 26.6inches long. That is 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. My head circumference is in the 25th percentile, I think I can thank my mom for that! My doc said I was the picture of good health, and that I am growing perfectly along my growth curves. She also said that I might be more comfortable in a convertible car seat now since I am so long, which prompted mom to run home and search the internet for the prettiest Britax she could find!

Badger Fan? Yes I Am!

Monday, September 8, 2008

Well, daddy got his way and we watched football all weekend! I cheered on the WI Badgers- they had me a bit worried in the beginning, but they stepped it up and ended up winning. Mom says it is a good thing or dad would have been crabby all weekend. Anyway, dad said I was the cutest cheerleader ever, and mom thinks the red looks good on me... Future Badger? Too early to tell- I'm keeping my options open. Then we watched the Jets on Sunday (I have to agree with mom, Brett still looks good!) and tonight the first Packer Party is scheduled for our house. I sure hope my friend Leah stops by:)

WORTH THE WAIT

Thursday, September 4, 2008

That's right, I had my first taste of real food today, and it was totally worth the wait. My mom thought I was going to be a little disappointed in the taste since it was just plain rice cereal, but I couldn't get enough of it! Mom and dad couldn't decide who should feed me my first bite, so while I sat there in excited anticipation dad came up with the idea that he should be the one since mommy gave me my first drink... good one dad. Anyway, here are a few pictures of me taking my first bites. Mom said if I keep eating like a champ, I'll be on to fruits and vegetables by next week. Let the fun begin!

I couldn't believe it was all gone, so daddy let me lick the bowl... Mommy obviously does the laundry around here.
