Anyone need a wipe?

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

My new favorite activity? You guessed it, emptying the wipes containers. It is really a ton of fun, as soon as I pull one out, there is another one just waiting to be pulled! Mom has only let me get away with this once so far, but dad usually doesn't notice until I have it at least half-emptied. I am pretty fast... and it helps if he is watching football:)

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Playing with Lucy's doll.
My new singing table.

I'll get the phone mom!

Check out my new ride!

I made out like a bandit this Christmas. I have piles of new clothes, and so many new toys that mom hasn't even opened some of them! She figured she might as well surprise me with a few new ones each day for the next week or so. I love my new activity table, where I can talk on the phone, play the piano, read a book, and work on my laptop. I also got a few toys that I can ride on or just push along for now, including a train, giraffe, and a rocking elephant! I have a lot of fun playing with my new farm set and my very first purse that sings to me... the lipstick is my favorite (it rattles and is a good size to chew on). Santa brought me a Cabbage Patch doll that looks just like the one my mom had when she was little. I love to give her kisses. I could go on and on, but I really want to get back to the play room (okay, the living room!) and play away!

Where to begin??

We had a busy week with Christmas, but we survived, and boy was it fun! Lots of great new foods to try, plus hugs and kisses from family and friends. Oh, and some presents too, I'll show those off in just a bit. We had six parties to attend so I was pretty tired by the end of the week. We started off Christmas Eve morning at Grandma and Grandpa Weimert's, then headed to daddy's grandma Beatrice's, and wound up at Dan and Kristi McNamara's for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day we woke up at the farm and celebrated with grandma and grandpa and Grace, Lucy, and Leyton. I even got to try some of that famous baked french toast that daddy always brags about. Then we headed to Grandma Bev's for dinner. On Saturday we had one last party at Grandma Krumm's, where I got to see lots of aunts and uncles and cousins! I had a great first Christmas and am loving all of my new presents.

9 Month Check

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

I had my 9 Month doctors visit last Friday. She said I am growing really well, and I'll be walking and talking in no time. Don't know what she is thinking, I was talking to her the whole time! And I can walk along furniture and crawl really fast when I want something I shouldn't have, so why would I want to walk? I am now 28 1/4 inches long (75th percentile), 18lb 4oz. (40th percentile) and my head circumference is 17.3 inches (50th percentile). Oh, and another tooth update- I now have 8 teeth, four on top and four on the bottom! Mom bought me my first toothbrush... not very fun.

Ready and Waiting...

I may sound like my cousin Grace when I ask, "Is it Christmas yet?" I am all ready for Santa to come. We put our tree up two weeks ago, and then our stockings came and mom hung those up too. Mine is the one with the ballerina on it, and I hope he fills it really full! I heard mom telling dad that he should probably clean the soot out of the fireplace... maybe that is what Santa is waiting for??

I Saw Santa

Thursday, December 11, 2008

I got to see Santa while we were down in Dodgeville. He was visiting Lands End, so I tagged along with Leyton. His lap just wasn't as comfortable as dad's, so I squirmed a little bit, but mom got some pictures. I did give Santa some ideas for Christmas- you know, anything that makes noise, lights up, or that I can drop and have mom pick up for me (over and over and over again).

Weekend with Friends

Sorry we have been pretty busy, but I wanted to let you know how much fun I had last weekend. Mom and dad and I went to Dodgeville to visit Becky, Eric, and Leyton. Then we met up with Megan, Scott, and Maddox in Mt. Horeb. Boy did we have fun! I mean, dad keeps telling me to stay away from boys, but they really aren't that bad:) Maddox has two puppies that laid right next to the gate so I could pet them. Thank you Leyton and Maddox for showing me such a good time, and I hope I can visit again soon.

Santa Came Early!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

That's right, Santa made an early visit to my house! I woke up this morning and there was this beautiful new car seat in the living room. I got my very own Britax. I have been trying out grandma's and Aunt Kelly's for a couple of months now, and I finally got my own! I was wondering how long mom and dad were going to squeeze me into that infant seat. My new seat is "oh so comfortable" (and mom says it is very safe too). I can't wait to try it out, just in time for our road trip to Dodgeville this weekend.

I Love Lucy!

No, not the TV show. I love my cousin Lucy! She gave me this fabulous walker, and I just love it! I have so much fun pushing this around and walking across the living room. Plus it has all kinds of fun activities on the front of it, so when I get tired of walking I can sit and play. So thank you Lucy, and I hope you don't miss it too much (now I understand why you had such a hard time giving it up)!

My First Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 30, 2008

I have to admit, Thanksgiving certainly lived up to my expectations. I couldn't figure out why mom and dad were so excited about a meal, but it sure was fun to see all of my relatives and the food wasn't bad either:) I got to try the mashed potatoes (grandma snuck me a little gravy even though mom said no), sweet potatoes, green beans, and scalloped corn. Here are some pictures of me enjoying the meal. And I loved playing with my cousins all weekend, but I did tend to get a bit jealous when grandma held Leyton instead of me!

Cheeks!

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

I know what you're thinking... look at those cheeks! In the last week, mom has been complaining that I am getting really heavy, and judging by the picture, I think a lot of it has to do with my cheeks! They are a little rosy in this picture, which mom thought was cute, until she realized I was coming down with a cold. Now I have a full-blown, runny-nose, sneezing, watering eyes, coughing cold. I sure hope I can still taste the turkey tomorrow:)

Come Play with Me!

Here is some footage of me trying to get Mischa's attention. It is from a couple of weeks ago, before I learned how to walk along the couch. Now if I want Mischa to get up and play, all I have to do is pull on her ear or paw, or whatever is hanging over the side of the couch! Sorry the video is a bit dark, mom thought I should be "winding down" because it was bedtime. FYI- in case you can't see her, Mischa is laying on the far end of the couch.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

It is my mom's birthday today, and she keeps kissing on me and saying that no one can beat the present I gave her.... I slept through the night! That is right, it has been a LONG time, but I did it! I went to bed at 8pm and didn't get up until 5am. But I didn't stop there- I went back to sleep until 8 this morning. Mom is just so happy she can't stop smiling. She sure is easy to please. Now I am taking her to Macy's to do some birthday shopping:)

I'm Stuck!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

With all of this crawling around, I find myself stuck in some strange places! I can crawl into the smallest of spaces, but sometimes it is a bit tricky to find my way back out! Yesterday I crawled under my highchair for a puff that had fallen on the floor, and once I stood up I was trapped! I eventually found my way out, with no help from mom who was busy snapping pictures.

New Discoveries

I discover something new each and every day, and right now I am fascinated with Mischa's food and water. I love to splash her water all over the floor and her food is quite colorful- so colorful, I thought maybe I should try some:) Mom was not happy, but it really wasn't that bad. Mischa is nice enough to share with me, and in exchange I share some of my cheerios with her. We've got it all worked out!

Beautiful Fall Day

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

I stayed at grandma and grandpa's all weekend, and yesterday we spent some of the day outside. It was a beautiful day so mom and I helped grandma finish landscaping around her new deck. I mostly crinkled leaves and crawled around (why did they even invent strollers?). But when I started eating the rocks they said I had to find something else to do. Luckily, grandpa came to the rescue and let me ride with him to town. We ran errands and I even got to go to Polfus with him... I know Leyton is going to be jealous- I saw some big green tractors:)

Halloween Fun

On Friday I experienced my very first Halloween. I guess I don't really see the fun in dressing up in strange costumes, but I was a good sport. In the morning we visited relatives in Rice Lake, and then I headed to New Richmond to do some real trick or treating with my cousins. I wasn't a big fan of getting in and out of my car seat at every stop, not to mention the top of my costume wouldn't fit in my car seat so that had to come on and off at each stop also. Mom even admitted it was quite a lot of work, especially since I couldn't eat the candy anyway. But it was fun to see Grace and Lucy dressed as Tinkerbell, and Leyton was a giraffe. I was a fluffy pink poodle, and I didn't even fight with the kitty (aka, grandma)!

Standing (and falling)!

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I've been working on it all day, and I am getting pretty good at it. I am quite resourceful too. I have now successfully pulled myself up to standing using my diaper wipes container, mom's magazine basket, the bumbo chair, my toy drums, mom's legs, and Mischa. Finally mom remembered that this little chair was sitting in my room, so she brought it out to the living room for me to climb on. I'm still working on my balance, and I keep forgetting that I can't just let go... I guess they make these diapers bulky for a reason- to cushion my little bum:)

Busy Baby

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Since mom and dad got back from their vacation, I have become one busy baby. So far mom has found about ten more things around the house that need to be baby-proofed (or relocated for the time being). For example, I found the central vac hook-up in the dining room. I also figured out that I can reach a lot more stuff when I am in my walker. I almost pulled the table cloth off the table, and I opened my first cupboard! I also pulled myself up (that's right, I was standing) using the iron log holder next to the fireplace. Mom was not impressed, and I'm not sure if it was because I was standing, or that I was about to fall onto the iron stand, or maybe because it was on the marble tile, next to the lit fireplace. Mom better hope social services isn't perusing my blog:) Of course my favorite pastime is reading mom's magazines. Okay, okay, maybe I am not exactly reading yet, but it sure is fun to rip pages out of them and crumple them up. At the end of the day, I am not satisfied unless there are at least ten loose pages scattered about the living room. I wonder when mom will give up and quit saving magazines?

Produce Patch

Saturday, October 18, 2008

We visited the local produce patch the other day so that I could pick out my very own pumpkin! Those big ones scared me a bit, so I settled on a nice small one. I also made friends with Mr. Pumpkin Head, and daddy and I had our picture taken with him!

They're Leaving

Well, I guess it is true.... mom and dad are leaving me for a whole week. I thought I was going with when they put me in this huge suitcase, but apparently that was just to entertain me while they packed. Pretty soon the suitcase got fuller and fuller of clothes until there was no room for me! I know mom is going to regret packing all of those shoes instead of me! Oh well, I'll have fun with grandma and grandpa and aunt Kelly. So have fun in South Padre mom and dad, and maybe next time I'll get to come with:)
