Luca's First Doctor Visit

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Luca had his first doctor appointment today and he checked out great! He weighs 6lb. 9oz. (1 oz. more than when we left the hospital), and his bilirubin came back normal (no jaundice). He is sleeping a lot during the day and I am trying to take advantage of it because I know it will end soon. Today was also the first time I've had to get all three kids ready and loaded into the car- it was pretty manageable, but the appointment wasn't until 11am- it may be different when we are taking Lauren to preschool at 9! Oh, and both of those outfits are from today... and he is in a different one now. We seem to have an issue today with wet leaky diapers.

It's A Boy!

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

On Saturday, July 16th, we welcomed Luca James Weimert into our family! We are so surprised and grateful to have a little boy in our family! He weighed 6lb. 14oz, and was 19 inches long. I started having contractions around 8:30 Saturday morning, headed to the hospital around 11:30, and he was born at 2:45pm. The big sisters are doing great and loving on him whenever they get a chance. He has a full head of dark hair and is precious beyond words.

Proud daddy

Lauren insists I take a picture every time she holds him!

County Fair

The Barron County Fair was last weekend, and we had a great time looking at all of the animals, eating greasy food, and trying out some rides. Luckily this was before the heat wave- so crazy to see the girls in pants and long-sleeve shirts!

Lauren and Ella driving fire trucks Carousel

Lauren's friends went on the big Ferris Wheel so she wanted to go too- I was so nervous for her, but she says she liked it. I cannot believe how high they were, and no tears.

Our lovely carnival prize... and yes it works great:)

Swim Lessons

Lauren has been in swim lessons the last two weeks and she did great! This was her first time in lessons, and really her first experience in a structured setting where she had to listen to her instructor, wait her turn, etc. She is turning into such a big girl!

Fourth of July

Friday, July 8, 2011

Last weekend we headed to Uncle Pat, Aunt Terri, and Aunt Marilyn's cabin to celebrate the Fourth. The kids had a blast in the water and were in it all day! It was a fun time with good food and great company.

And floating.... she is fearless in the water.

Lauren has been begging to go back just to jump off the dock.... thanks Aunt Becky and Aunt Kelly for catching her over and over and over!

Ella ready to enjoy Uncle Pat's firework show- it was great!

Bits and pieces

Before the big Fourth of July post, I wanted to share my favorite photos from the past couple weeks.

Nothing says summer like sweet corn!

Our last trip to grandma's house, Lauren picked out a goldfish to put outside in the cow's watering tank. Haven't heard how he is doing...
Lastly, Mischa is feeling a bit lonely during the move- she found comfort in the baby's Moses basket and Lauren let her borrow her blankie.
