Standing (and falling)!

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I've been working on it all day, and I am getting pretty good at it. I am quite resourceful too. I have now successfully pulled myself up to standing using my diaper wipes container, mom's magazine basket, the bumbo chair, my toy drums, mom's legs, and Mischa. Finally mom remembered that this little chair was sitting in my room, so she brought it out to the living room for me to climb on. I'm still working on my balance, and I keep forgetting that I can't just let go... I guess they make these diapers bulky for a reason- to cushion my little bum:)

Busy Baby

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Since mom and dad got back from their vacation, I have become one busy baby. So far mom has found about ten more things around the house that need to be baby-proofed (or relocated for the time being). For example, I found the central vac hook-up in the dining room. I also figured out that I can reach a lot more stuff when I am in my walker. I almost pulled the table cloth off the table, and I opened my first cupboard! I also pulled myself up (that's right, I was standing) using the iron log holder next to the fireplace. Mom was not impressed, and I'm not sure if it was because I was standing, or that I was about to fall onto the iron stand, or maybe because it was on the marble tile, next to the lit fireplace. Mom better hope social services isn't perusing my blog:) Of course my favorite pastime is reading mom's magazines. Okay, okay, maybe I am not exactly reading yet, but it sure is fun to rip pages out of them and crumple them up. At the end of the day, I am not satisfied unless there are at least ten loose pages scattered about the living room. I wonder when mom will give up and quit saving magazines?

Produce Patch

Saturday, October 18, 2008

We visited the local produce patch the other day so that I could pick out my very own pumpkin! Those big ones scared me a bit, so I settled on a nice small one. I also made friends with Mr. Pumpkin Head, and daddy and I had our picture taken with him!

They're Leaving

Well, I guess it is true.... mom and dad are leaving me for a whole week. I thought I was going with when they put me in this huge suitcase, but apparently that was just to entertain me while they packed. Pretty soon the suitcase got fuller and fuller of clothes until there was no room for me! I know mom is going to regret packing all of those shoes instead of me! Oh well, I'll have fun with grandma and grandpa and aunt Kelly. So have fun in South Padre mom and dad, and maybe next time I'll get to come with:)

Fall Leaves

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Mom let me play in the leaves today while she threw the ball for Mischa. I sure had fun picking them up, ripping them, crunching them, and I even tasted a few. They really don't taste so great. Anyway, mom thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to wear this cute sweater outfit, which she bought before she was even pregnant... Is that why dad always teases mom about her shopping addiction? Needless to say, she was right- it looks
adorable in pictures:)

Hanging with my cousins

I was able to hang out with my cousins all weekend and we had a blast! Leyton and I may not look amused in the picture, but we really do like playing with Grace and Lucy. We went shopping Saturday, where we loaded grandma's car full with diapers and wipes from Babies R Us.... and dad said it wasn't worth the gas money driving over there:) We sure proved him wrong. Saturday night mom, dad, and I went to the Tellijohn's Oktoberfest party where I was able to play with my friend Maddox. It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to play with Grace and Lucy again while my parents are on vacation.

Playing with my sister

Friday, October 10, 2008

Just thought I would share some pictures of what Mischa and I do in our spare time. She loves sharing her toys and bones with me, and she even drops her ball in front of me so I can throw it for her. Yeah, I'm a little too small for fetch, but Mischa sure likes to try. I tried to get a few tastes of her bone, but I guess mom wasn't as engrossed with Grey's Anatomy as I thought:)

I'm just going to steal this away... notice that mischievous look on my face.

I've almost got it!

Here Mischa, I just want to play with it- I promise I won't eat it.

Interesting... wonder why mom won't let me chew on one of these.

Okay, I'll hold it while you chew Mischa. Good puppy. We make a good team!

Meet My New Ducky!

Monday, October 6, 2008

Can you believe it? A giant rubber ducky! Ok, not quite, but he is pretty cool- if you squeeze his beak he quacks. It's my new bathtub, and I thought it was pretty funny. Now I get to chew on my rubber ducky while sitting in a ducky tub! I outgrew my infant tub, and after filling the big whirlpool tub just one time for my bath, mom decided she needed an alternative. I'm glad she found this, I bet my friends are jealous...

Sock Season

Ugh... It is sock season again. I am absolutely happiest when I am barefoot, but with this cold, wet weather mom has been putting those annoying cotton things on my feet. They are just no fun- I can no longer chew on my toes whenever I wish. I am obviously not happy about them, so I usually pull them off when mom isn't looking. Dad never notices when I'm missing a sock or two, but mom always does and puts them right back on. When is summer going to come back?

I HEART BANANAS

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Mom caved tonight. I have tried all of the veggies she made for me, and I loved the carrots and sweet potatoes. She has been really reluctant to give me fruits because she fears I have inherited her sweet tooth and will never eat another vegetable again. Well, tonight as she was trying to decide what to give me for supper she noticed that the bananas on the counter were getting a bit too ripe. And, because she won't eat a banana with even a spot of brown on the peel, and because she did not want to make banana bread in the midst of her apple strudel, apple sauce, and apple crisp she was cooking up, she decided to let me have a banana! She mashed half of one up and I ate it all. It was the sweetest, best thing I have ever tasted! Since I liked it so much, she mixed a bit more with my rice cereal and I finished that up too. I'm hoping she gives me the other one for breakfast tomorrow, I'll be dreaming of it all night:)
