Tired Out

Monday, March 30, 2009

If you've talked to my mom in the last couple of weeks, she may have mentioned something about my napping strikes.... but judge for yourself. Does it look like I have a problem falling asleep? As soon as I had my sloppy joe torn apart I fell asleep in my highchair, pickle in hand. In all fairness I was a little overtired this day. My friend Maddox came to play that morning so I missed my morning nap, and I decided not to go to bed until 11pm the night before.

Weekend in Dodgeville

A week ago mommy and I went to Dodgeville with Grace and Lucy, Aunt Kelly, and Grandma. We stayed at Leyton's house and had a lot of fun! We got to go swimming, shopping, and went to a park. I was also able to meet Ronald McDonald, and Grace and Lucy showed me how nice he is. They know him better than me, but I am sure I will grow to be friends with him too:)

Little Surfer Girl

Mommy took the leaf out of the dining room table this weekend, and I used it as my personal surfboard! I sure had fun walking and balancing on it. If only there was some water below me, it would have softened my falls!

Afternoon at the Park

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Yesterday mommy took me to the park so I could try out the swings and slides. I had a blast! The swing was fun, but I really thought it was neat to go down the big slides with mom. Then we found some smaller slides that I could go down all by myself. Mom counted "one, two, three," and then whee! While all of those new toys were exciting, I think the best part is that mom let me run around in the grass and get dirty. A trip to the park isn't complete without grass stains on the knees, right?

Birthdays at the Bowling Alley

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Last weekend we celebrated grandma and grandpa McNamara's birthdays at the bowling alley in New Richmond. We had a great time with family, and I showed everyone how fast I am getting running around! Of course I also got to eat another cupcake! I really love birthdays:)

12-Month Check-Up

Friday, March 13, 2009

I had my 12-Month appointment today, boy was that rough! First came the easy part- the doctor checked me over and weighed and measured me. I am now 19lb. 5oz. and 30 1/4 inches. That puts me in the 80th percentile for height, 15th for weight, and 3rd percentile for height vs. weight. My doctor said not to worry about the weight though, probably just because I am so active now. I am running all over the place! After the fun stuff, it was time for shots. They hurt but I only cried for a minute. Then we stopped at a place I have never been before... the lab station. Pretty sure I never want to go back. Mommy and two nurses held me down while I screamed and squirmed. They put a tight rubber band on my arm and stuck a needle in me. IT HURT! I guess they had to check my blood for a lead screening and hemoglobin. It took me awhile to calm down after that, but I did get some goldfish crackers and a cool band aid when it was over!

While we waited I tore up some paper.

Showing off my band aid.

1st Birthday Party (Take Three)

Leah and Ellie helped me open presents.
Evan loved riding on my giraffe!
And last but not least, pictures from my third birthday celebration. We had all of our friends over, and boy was it busy! There were 8 kids under 6, and they loved all of my toys. I did a good job sharing, and everyone had fun. I got a bunch of presents, lots of books, toys, and a new dolly. We also had Dairy Queen cake which was delicious- I can see why mom asked me to request that:) I especially loved the kitty on it.

1st Birthday Party (Take Two)

A little late, but as promised... pictures from my birthday party with daddy's family. It was a lot of fun, and I got a great new toy- the busy ball popper! It makes music and balls go flying everywhere, and then I go pick them up and put them back in. Thanks Uncle Joe and Aunt Bobbi! I am also getting the hang of this cupcake thing... when is the next party?

1st Birthday Party (Take One)

Monday, March 2, 2009

On Saturday I celebrated my first birthday in New Richmond. Grandma and grandpa and all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins went to Aunt Tina and Susie's house in Glenwood where we had good food, good toys, and great cake! Aunt Tina made my birthday cake, isn't it neat? It was a fun night, and I even showed them how big I was by walking around a bit. Of course I got way too many toys (clarification- mom says way too many... I say enough to entertain myself for a week)! I am so excited for my new wagon- mom says the first day it warms up she'll take me for a ride. I also have tried out my lawn mower, mail box, little people set, and of course the bounce 'n spin zebra! The night got a little late, but after a cupcake, I was ready to go again! I can't wait until next weekend when we get to do that all over again in Rice Lake!
Testing the frosting...
Now the cake...
I approve!
