An Overdue Trip to the Zoo

On Sunday we headed to Como Zoo with grandma and grandpa and Kelly and the girls. This zoo trip was long overdue- I felt so guilty at Farm City Days when Lauren said she wanted to see the giraffe! I think she had overheard us talking about the new giraffe at the zoo. We had a great time, even Ella liked to see all of the animals- she was especially entertained by some little monkeys jumping through the trees. Lauren maintains that her favorite animal was the lion, even though they slept the whole time we were there...

Farm City Days

We went to Farm City Days on Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa, Grace and Lucy. It was a HOT day, and because of the rain the night before we had to park and ride a bus to get to the farm. It was Lucy and Lauren's (and technically Ella's too) 1st school bus ride! Lauren was really excited to get on the big bus, and with the help of Grace, a seasoned pro, she did great! Although Grace was not impressed that Grandpa was letting Lauren stand up and put her hands out the window! Pretty sure Lauren will be the naughty one on the bus!

Sometimes you just have to dress your children in matching outfits. Lauren was lucky enough to score matching shades and a hair clip.

A Productive Weekend

Dave, Kelly, Grace and Lucy came up Friday night so that they could get an early start on building our new deck! It turned out absolutely beautiful! Joe and Tina came up to help on Saturday too. Thank you to everyone who helped, we are so happy, and just can't stop looking at it, playing on it, etc. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

We finally have stairs coming off the deck! Before we had to walk through the sun porch and use those stairs.

Mischa loves the deck- Dan joked that it is her new kennel! She lays on it all day, I think she feels pretty special watching the world (aka our yard) from up above!
