One Month

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Aaaah, where is the time going? Summer is almost over, and my little (and probably last) baby is already one month old. I think that is why I am having such a hard time with this, every day he gets bigger and I know I will never have a baby that small again. To me he looks a bit chubbier, but others still think he looks like a newborn. I am guessing he is around 8 1/2 pounds or so. He weighed 7lb. 10 oz. at 3 weeks. He loves to eat, still sleeps a lot during the day, and has a LONG fussy period in the evening (right about the time the girls need to go to bed). He wears mostly newborn clothing and diapers. And his eyes are turning more and more blue each day!

See that smile in the mirror??!

Back in the Saddle

Monday, August 15, 2011

Uncle Pat bought a special new saddle made for kids, so Lauren went back to try it out. She looked like a natural on there and I was impressed with how well she did. She no longer needs anyone to walk next to her, and Pat even took Twinkle off the rope for awhile.

My little girl is getting so big and brave!

Thanks Uncle Pat and Aunt Terri! I am sure we will be back soon!

Field Work

It is no secret that Lauren loves visiting the farm, and she is always eager for a ride on the tractor, bobcat, or gator. A couple weekends ago, a neighbor was helping grandpa combine the oats and he offered Lauren and Leyton a ride! They were so excited, and we got up to the field he said there was room for all of us, meaning Ella and I rode too. However, it was past nap time so Ella fell asleep right away, and then Leyton fell asleep standing up! They had a lot of fun though and everyone woke up in time to see it blow the oats into the wagon.

Luca's 1st Bath

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Luca enjoyed his first bath in a pink tub! The tub didn't bother me so much, but then I went to dry him off and realized all of our hooded towels are pink too:) The girls love helping with his baths, and I'm hoping at some point the interest will end and I can get him in and out of the tub a lot quicker!

A Perfect Summer Day

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

This past weekend we spent a day with friends- playing outside, going for a pontoon ride, and ending the day with a cookout. I got in some much needed adult interaction, the kids had a blast, and even Luca seemed to enjoy the boat ride!

Luca (And no, his hair is not wind-blown, it is just freshly washed. He was perfectly protected from the elements while out on the boat! Looks like he enjoyed the fresh air!
